People resort to
vegetarianism with different kinds of motives. Some want to lead a healthy
life, others want to a live longer, reduce the intake of fat, create a
pollution free environment and preserve the Earth. This means that there are
many who encourage vegan food for the love of animals and consider it unethical
to have them on their plate.
Abundance research has been carried out and which documented about the importance and health benefits of living on plant diet. Therefore it is not wise to think that vegan dishes do not have protein because even green plants have them and, non-meat lovers take in enough protein required for a healthy living.
It is true that you do
not need a satisfying meal comprises of meat dishes to satiate your taste buds,
especially if you are planning to have a vegetarian food at any of the popular
restaurants. Way back in the 90’s vegan food was far way different than what it
is today like the innovative Gujrati thali in Delhi.
This is basically the
cuisine of Gujarat a western state in India and despite being located near the
coastline where seafood is abundant, vegetarianism is practiced here. A typical
Gujrati thali comprises of roti, dal, kadhi, rice and assortment of seasonal
veggies. Most of the Gujrati dishes are distinctly sweet, sour, salty and
spicy.
